service & reception.
The biggest news in my life is that I was married in Bermuda on November
18, 2001 to Lisa Marae Patterson. Find out more about our wedding adventure
-- believe me, it was quite a WILD ADVENTURE!
Since we had a destination wedding out of the country, we have decided
to have a "blessing of vows" service and reception for friends and family
on April 5, 2003. The service will be at the Williamsburg Community Chapel at 12 Noon
on Saturday, April 5. The service will be an eclectic musical extravaganza
of sorts, with a celebration of the Lord's Supper (Eucharist). Afterwards,
we will head out to beautiful Evelynton Plantation in Charles
City County, right on the James River. There we will enjoy a special
luncheon with musical entertainment -- featuring vocalist Branch Fields,
with dancing starting around 4:00 PM. We will have some dance lessons
for those who feel a bit timid about and new to "cutting the rug."
Actually, as you drive down Route 5 from the Chapel to Evelynton, you
will pass our neighborhood. We live just across the Chickahominy River
as you enter Charles City County. We live a couple hundred of yards
off to the left.
Because of the length of the service and the outside nature of the reception
at Evelynton, the activities will be geared towards adults and more mature
children. If you are coming in from out of town with children, please
contact Clarke and
Lisa . We are providing a baby-sittiing service in the nursery
at the Chapel during the service. Update Arrangements are also being
made to provide baby-sitting at Evelynton during the reception.
Several of you have asked about Gift Ideas for the newlyweds (Thank
you again to those of you who have given to us so generously already!).
We will not be setting up a formal bridal registry right now (our living
arrangements are quite cramped right now anyway!). Instead,
we would kindly suggest gift certificates as alternatives. Update
February 24, 2003: Lisa has setup one registry with Replacements,
Ltd. below, but you would need to call the phone number listed instead of
checking out the website.
